It is a cool idea but I seriously doubt it would keep you from getin gpulled over and given a ticket for it. Cause the law says it has to be visible at all times while in motion or parked. But still very creative.

Nice idea man. Car looks great. I see you a lot. A month or so back we ran next to each other on 94 East near downtown from the STP area. I was in the 04 black VW GTI hatch. Remember that? I had wifey and her sister in the car. I also saw you down at midway when back to the 50s was in town, I was in a my supersonic blue G2 Integ. Sold both cars now. Anyways, good idea with the plate and thumbs up on the car - it looks MUCH better this year!!

Ok here is where I have some extra basis covered.

Look at the picture with the plate in the up position. Look to the left of the plate and on the bottom lip. Kind of straight down and a hair to the left from the M on the plate.

see the little screw in there. I did that to inhibit any issues with the cops. I tell them if the palte is swiveling I must have lost the other stabilizer bracket. hahahahha. You underestimate my sneakiness.

Hell yea, they are. I've been pulled over 8 times this summer for no front plate. That's a really good idea.

I understand your sneakiness and that is a good idea as well. But I seriously doubt law enforcement would go for it. Cause if I was a cop i would say " Why do you have hinges in the first place? Seems to me you wanted it to swing back in the first place or you would have just used L brackets"

I'm not downing your work by any means. I'm just thinking of what might or could happen to you. I know you want it to work as good as possible, but sometimes those extra ponies or cool points aren't worth the trouble you can get into. Hope ya don't get in any trouble though. Still looks nice with thr plate there anyways. maybe mount it to the side instead of in front of it.

See thats the thing. I didn;t have a palte for a year up front and then I got stopped. so I devised a way for those people who have no front plates right now whom want to have a cool mod done to it involving the palte for flow and function. at the same tiime look legal when your stopped at a light and all that.

Another theory got brought to my atention is to add weights to it in order to help keep the plate down for an extended time frame so if you are rolling slowly passed a cop the palte will be more prone to staying down.

From the down picture it doesn't look like you can see the hinges.

yeah you can't see the hinges from what I have seen on the car.
