Default Limits of pump gas

I have been building my motor to handle a ton of boost, but I have not realized the limits of pump gas. I can get 93 octance. If I went with 10:1 comp, what are the limits of b/c of the 93 octance. sorry for the shitty wording, i do not know enough about this to even sound intellegent in my question. Thanks

with engine management 16 to 17 psi should be doable if tuned on the dot. 17-18 psi on pump with 9.0 is streetable.

What about on this setup, I also have 93 octane access:
Endyn 9:1 comp. pistons
GE sleeved block to 84.5mm
Eagle Rods
New pumps/belts/seals etc
Pro Drive oil gears
Cometic Head Gasket
B16A head p&p'ed; 3 angle valve job
Type R Springs/retainers
CTR cams
Endyn SS Valves
Bronze valve guides
T3/T04E Garrett snail; .82 Turbine/.60 Comp./stage 3 wheel
Tial 40mm HP wastegate
HKS Racing BOV
Hondata 4b
RC 550cc injectors
Spearco Intercooler
And a bunch of other little goodies that shouldn't matter much
EDIT: How could I forget the JG/Edelbrock Intake manifold and TB

So how much do you think I can boost on 93? I want to boost 15-20psi daily and 24psi on the track w/race gas....is it possible?

Default Re: Limits of pump gas (SEFI8LOxCivic)

here is what I am planning as far as the motor goes:

B18B HEAD

• Portflow Port & Polish
• Portflow Deshroud Chambers to fit 84mm bore
• Ferrea Stainless Steel Valves ($320) ($271???)
• Ferrea Brass Valve Guides ($80)
• Portflow Titanium Retainers and Dual Valve Springs ($320)
• Skunk2 Intake Manifold ($300)
• Skunk2 Adjustable Cam Gears ($175)
• Stock Cams

B18B BLOCK ($)

• Golden Eagle Sleeves (bored and honed to 84mm) ($727.50)
• Golden Eagle Scatter Shield ($160)
• Eagle Forged H-Beam Connecting Rods
• JE 10.0:1 Compression 84mm Pistons and Rings ($485)
• Crank Micro-polished & Balanced
• Cometic 84mm Headgasket ($100)
• Acura OEM GSR oil pump ($89)
• Pro Drive Oil Pump Gear ($240)
• Moroso Oil Pan with ½” NPT bung (PN: 20901) ($350 summit)
• Moroso Oil Pickup (PN: 24010 VTEC, PN: 24011 NON-VTEC) ($46 summit)

MISCELLANEOUS

• Energy Suspension Poly Engine Mounts
• All new belts and hoses and bearings
• ARP head and rod bolts

Tuning via hondata and a pretty straight forward t3/t4 turbo setup. Nothing too extreme with the turbo setup. Thank you guys for all the responses.

B20LS: No. You are going to run out of injector long before you hit 15psi. Period (unless you are OK with 95%+ duty cycle). If you nab some 750~850 cc injectors, you may be able to run upwards of 18psi and make well over 450whp with the 60 trim unit.

I've heard from Stoopid on superhonda that the general rule is 80-100 hp per cylinder on pump gas. I think for dohc that turns out to be around 15psi or so?

i'd say running over 400 hsp, especially with 10:1, is pushing it......on pump gas.

No, Im running 9:1 compression, so I should get 720cc injectors just to be safe then? The 20psi will be on race gas, Im going to try to run 18psi on pump gas though.

this thread is getting to confusing between you and 2k_teg. but for you, 720 injectors will get you 18-20 psi.

no seriously...i trust your opinion and would like to hear it...What do you think the limits if the block in question are on 93 octane? You have done it...

seriously, if it was me, i wouldn't do the combo of 10:1/pump gas/hondata. 10:1 only makes your tuning window smaller....as does pump gas. go 9.5:1 if you must. i don't know about limits. i would think as i said before that anything over 400 is pushing it.
