Default Largest bore for D16

Is 78mm bore too large for a turbod d16? B/C that is the largest bore that it will go, would it be beneficial? I understand that if it is blown it will not be able to be rebuilt. This would be for a obviously fully built block, and will be driven at the track and leisurely only. Going for around 300-400 whp

Let me have your opinions...

Hell i would leave it at 75 and run more boost. No need for a 77-78. I would rather have the ability to rebuild a few times.

81mm? wouldnt that leave youre sleeves with only a few mm of material?

And you want to run high boost

Imma go measure my block to see how much would be left

measuring from the outside of the sleeve Im getting 88mm

Now if you bore the sucker to 81mm, youll have like 3.5mm thick cylinder walls

I dunno how nicely that would work

Just a thought! What piston sizes are readily available without going custom?

Yeah man Id just stick stock bore

Most companie carry 75mm/75.25mm/75.5mm on the shelf

Just the basic stock bore, .010 over, .020 over
