Default hondata knock sensor problem

well, i have a 96 gsr with bolt ons and I throw no codes at all. Using the obd2 to obd1 adapter harness, i also have hondata s300. When i install it i throw a code for my knock sensor. It also pulls the timing quite a bit. When I plugmy old ecu in, there is no problems. I know i can disable to the knock sensor. I tried to do it and the cel went away and no timing was pulled. Should i just disable the knock sensor or do i have to be concerned about what it is. Any input is appreciated. I would have posted in hondata forums, but having issues with my account

yes, you should disable it.

for starters the honda knock sensor is worthless, so its pointless to even have it.
I have read that it starts to ignore the knock sensor at higher rpms, and that's when all the problems will start from detonation and whatnot.

If you're worried about knock, check into the J and S safeguard... its a good knock sensing device.
