Just installed BOV, still getting compressor surge. =(
Hey guys I got my Greddy Type S welded today. The BOV is sounding a little but, but I an still hear compressor surge. The BOV is definitely not hitting as hard as it should be. Any ideas what it could be? I bought new vacuum lines, so I guess that is ruled out. Everything is hooked up correctly. Any and all help would be very much appreciated.

i believe u have to adjust it, their should be a nut on top that you can loosen up a bit, or change out the spring (most likly the nut)
on my RX-7 i had the turboxs bov, i leaved it at idle and loosen until the idle dies, then tighten it.
but for honda (speed density base) cars i believe u loosen a little, drive a little see how it works, then loosen as so. But if you start loosing boost etc, tighten it back up just a little.

Thanks for the help guys. I trided making it hard/soft, same thing. It sounds a tiny bit, then maybe 2 or 3 seconds later you hear a slight whistle again.

Yep, i had mine hooked into the vacuum source for my fpr, it worked fine until i swapped to a larger turbo.
I started having the same problem (compressor surge) until i moved the source to my brake booster, now it opens and sounds great. My buddy had the same problem with his greddy bov, did the same thing to solve his problem

I think its probably too tight. I was running like 8 or 9 psi and it was almost all the way backed out.
And also I noticed that mine needed a little "breaking in".
When I first put it on I would get slight compressor surge when letting off at part throttle, then after I drove like a couple more weeks it stopped doing it and it blew off normally.

Exactly what the problem was Had the vacuum lines T'd off too many times, so I shared the line for my boost gauge and BOV from the back of the intake manifold.
Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it!
