it doesn't "look" terrible, but it doesn't look like it'd flow great. IMO, find a used log and call it a day

I tuned an H23 that had one of those china cast manifolds, 273 whp @ 9.5 psi with a .60 T3/T04E. I'd say it would do 400 no problem... if it's the same company/quality of casting. There's more than one foundry in China, you know, and badly designed castings are prone to cracking.

Same boat. We did a 95 h23 with the same manifold. Had a garrett t3/t4 57 tri and we put out 291 @ 13psi with some 680s and a sakura ems. They work good for the price and are pretty sturdy. You will have to trim a little bit of the valve cover or make a elbow for the wastegate though, it hits.

You get what you pay for.

Unless you heat that manifold up to glowing yellow, chances are it will last a while. The main problem with cheap manifolds is the consistency of wall thickness, and the material used itself. A good manifold will use a decent amount of silicone (grey cast iron), and can deal with heat & stress well. A cheap one will use white cast iron, which is weak due to the large amount (and size) of carbides in it. Nickel is also added to resist rust & heat. Wrought iron (no carbon) is also something to stay away from for your manifold.

This is one reason why lots of replica parts from China/etc are as cheap as they are. Some foundries get as cheap as they can, and gladly pass the savings (and poor material properties) to the consumer.
