Yes it is too much. And it is .044 not .44.

Run .028. The reason you want to run a smaller plug gap is so the 'boost' does not blow out the spark.

"""""there is no power made with a smaller gap. I've run 6psi with .05 gap before and it ran like a champ. Regapped to 0.034 and the butt dyno said it was slower. You want to run the BIGGEST gap possible without having ignition problems, getting the spark "blown out".
if you are gapped at stock now and the car runs fine, then leave it alone. People only make the gap smaller when they run into ignition problems, or when the forum told them they are supposed to because they are boosted. Atleast this is how I see it...
""""""

QUOTED THIS FROM LS-T from awhile back!!!!!

There is no point in attempting to give you advise if you are not going to take it from people who know what the *** they are talking about, if you dont believe it then go rent a dyno out and test out both gaps and then come back here and talk.

Basically the point is to run a gap that conducts a strong spark but also isn't going to blow out or break up due to high power levels. 6psi on a peice of **** JRSC isnt going to make much power anyways so go for it.

Sorry to be a dick, but i am sick of people making posts asking questions, and once they get the answer they dont like it. Test it yourself for christ's sake...

I actually give advise on here when its not easy on here to find...

But if you actually knew how to search there could have been one less worthless post on this site.

Search "plug gap" under post bodies, and limit it to just FI, you should get about 25 results that give some good advise. Sorry, i didnt mean to upset you, did someone *** in your *** last night??? jesus.

Sincerly,

Mr. H-T

I am a moderator on the site and I gave you the information you needed. I also explained the info to you as well. It's pretty elementary stuff here.

Then you blow up my PM's and get all pissy with everyone on our site. If you don't like the boards then go somewhere else.

Well I agree with (dedonderosa). All he was doing was trying to find out some info on here, and its not his falt if people on here have to flip out on people for asking a question. If you couldn't ask questions on here then what? The purpose of a message forum is to ask questions. Any way I say just stick with what you are using it works fine on my civic and I run a gap of .044, don't worry about other people on here you know who the good ones are right.

Always run the biggest gap you can without getting hesitation or missing under boost. So yah tell your buddy to leave it as is.

It would take a lot of boost on a jrsc to blow out the spark. I do think .44 is a little big for any fi setup. I used to run .036 on my jrsc.
