Plug gap question...??

Plug gap question...??
OK buddy of mines got a gsr with jrsc @ 6psi and he put in bkr7e-11's and left the stock gap at .044 is that too big. i hear people runnin like .028 to .034 he has no probs at all car drives fine no det and smooth to redline. please let me know

He could also get the NGK BKR7E instead. Those have a smaller gap from the factory (I believe it is .038) and are used when reducing the gap to ~.028. The -11's are good for that because when you bend the grounding strap, it is at a pretty good angle comparitively.
If he is using them at .044 and has no problems, then there is no need to mess with them.

The reason people close the gap on their plugs is to prevent spark blow-out. If your buddy is not having any problems at .44, then leave it alone. If he ever develops ignition problems, drop to a set of BKR7e plugs because they have a smaller gap (as Dunc mentioned). If those become a problem, you can further gap them. Right now i run a .30 gap on BKR7E plugs (315whp @ 10psi)
