Whcih way do they go in from bottom up?

is it:
oil ring
2nd compression ring
1st compression ring
top oil ring

????????

from the top of the piston the rings go...1st compression, second compression then oil control rings. be sure to stagger them (rotate the openings away from each other)

 

Compression rings are always on top... oil control rings below...

Also, remember that JE rings are file fit! Don't just install them without filing the end gap to spec....

 

you guys cant let him do this on his own, take it to an engine builder to put together. there is a special tool they have to file them and to expand them into place and they know the stagger sequence, dont do it yourself.

they are informative, but not really informative all at the same time... ! I'll probably just take them back to the machine shop
