well, i was burning some oil, so i tore down the engine and went to replacing all the rings.
i put everything together and the car was running strong for about a week, but then i noticed it was still burning oil
i just did a compression test, and the results are:
205
205
225
225
theres SOMETHING going on wrong, i just dont know what anymore
could it be my valve seals? im burning WAAAAYYY too much oil, i burnt almost 3 quarts in a week.....
could it be that my headstuds got lose and need retightening?
could turbo be going out? (although that wouldnt explain my compression test results)
i need some input....i just dont know what to target next on my piece of crap.
any help is appreciated, thanks
update: ok so i just added a teaspoonful of oil on cylinders 1 and 2
compression went up to 225.......
please dont tell me the rings are on wrong....

well the rings could have been assembled wrong, there is a specific way up and down on the rings and also the degree of the ring grooves have to follow specific instructions per shop manual. Do you experience smoking upon acceleration ? .. Are there any oil signs under your car in the morning ?

the rings are broken in, i made sure they were facing "up", as well as facing them in the right load order.
gonna put the cams back on and do a leakdown test, as well as drive it with someone behind me to see when i smoke.
ill keep you guys updated, thanks-

I doubt that it would be valve stem seals. If it were then it would smoke badly at startup then go away.
Did you hone the cylinders when you had it apart?
If you didn't then your rings will not wear in like they should.
What kind of oil are you using for the break in?
How many miles did you put on it in that week?
How did you run it when you broke it in?
Hard? baby it?
