Well folks was fun while it lasted. Learned a lot from everyone in here but it's time to say goodbye... well i'm being forced to do so.
after not being able to get my car to run right these past couple days... it finally took a ****. spun a rod bearing. didnt' even really get to enjoy the damn thing but oh well so goes it i guess.
i think i'm cursed. since the motor has been built the crank pulley came loose. two months later the STOCK cam gear broke in half while just casually driving. while it was down for the 3-4 months it took to get the headwork done, it got broken into and a lot of my stuff stolen (though i recovered most of it). as i said the headwork i had done took 3 months and another month to find a headgasket. had a friend/my mechanic put the head on for me since i can't really do that work in my neighborhood. My luck... someone put an accord cam gear in a civic box. 8 valves bent on startup. Got that fixed. drove fine for a while, slapped the turbo setup on. Got it tuned... last pull headgasket blew. Another month to get a headgasket, put it back together myself and as my luck would have it.... it spun a rod bearing
i think i've put WAY more than enough time, money, and effort into the car for it not to run right like it was supposed to. and this last occurence i'm going to take as a sign to finally give up on it or at least take a break. right now in my life, it's more important to have a reliable (although that's what i thought i built the motor for) daily driver so i can get to school, work, and round town. i have one more year left before i get my degree, maybe then ill try another setup for a weekend/race-car.
thanks again to all those who have helped me out. i appreciate it. chances are ill keep the car but i'm not 100% sure. Once again... thanks to all
Marc.

thanks guys.
i'm not saying goodbye forever. i love cars. but with the string of bad luck i've been having it's just not practical at this point in time. i need a reliable car. i'm thinking of selling it. the turbo and motor setup might be sold soon. the car might go next. if not a stock motor or like a b18b just to drive around on for now.

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news yet again, and I can understand why you don't want to pursue the project as you have bigger plans in life.
Just wanted to say my thanks again to you as I appreciate all the info you have taught me regarding turbo's and every other stuff that you have acknowledged. However, I am still going to need your help when I am ready.
I wish you the best of luck on whatever you decide to tackle on next, whether it would be an S2k or any other car thats pimp.
Thanks Marc.

That is honestly so sad. I've been racing with my daily driver and only mode of real transportation for the three past years in college. I've got a year left like you and I honestly say that a college kid deservers something to get rid of stress. A quick car helps a LOT!

yah and hearing about situations like yours shows me how badly my car is cursed... i keep thinking "i built the motor to HELP the reliability..." so far it looks like i had better luck on a bone stock motor

don't know yet...
one part of me just wants to get away from it all... sell and buy something new keep it stock daily drive it.
another part of me wants to sell all the turbo and engine stuff and buy a b-series and work from then on, but i honestly am tired of dumping money into the car.
and another part says to put a stock sohc in there. keep my head and build another block on the side.

You'll be back.
You have a lot of options.
I say throw in a stock SOHC with ARP headstuds, Eagle rods and Suzuki Vitara pistons then boost that.
