Trust me, I feel your pain. I am in the same boat as you. I was hoping to be boosted with my built motor by now but unforseen circumstances have prevented this from happening. Thought about getting rid of everything a few times this summer. Kept my head in there and should have it back and running perfect in a couple of weeks.
don't give up yet.

the problem with building another motor it'd just mean dumping more money into the car. i'm really trying to avoid that. i think i'm going to sell it all. a friend is interested in it as is. s2000 is calling my name for a nice daily driver that i can leave stock (motorwise)
Marc.. You just need to take a break from it all.
Modding a car isnt cheap and with all that has happened to you over the course of building your car I can see why you want to part with it.
But you will be back!!!..
I am looking for another honda myself..

oh god, here comes the ghost flames and the giovanna wheels
marc, i think u need to take some time to decide what u really want, but u dont have the time and that sucks.
i say swap a sohc in now and figure out what u want to do really
TS!

Dam that sucks so is the bearing just making a noise or did it let go and **** up the entire engine... If it didn't let go just get another bearing in there makes sure you have pro's put it back together.
Goodluck

Hey man...i totally feel your pain. I worked my *** off on my ride during the winter...installed my turbo kit myself, took it to the dyno and cracked a ring land the next day. I accepted the fact that the motor was tired to begin with so I swapped the b18c1 bottom end with a b16a bottom, slapped the gsr head to the b16a bottom, check compression...was excellent, and started it up. Was running fine for a day until my resevior started pushing coolant. Ripped off the head and replaced my head bolts. Fixed the problem. When back to the dyno to get tuned. Made some good power..268@8psi on my 18g greddy turbo....WAS THRILLED. About 1 month later...I did a fourth gear run......and then oil and mad blow by started pushing out of my catch can. Cracked ringland! Took my plugs to my tunner...apparently all four cylinders were detonating!!
....now I have no summer ride, spent lots of money, time and effort to see my **** sit in the garage......and now my kit is up for sale.

thats exactly what im gonna do.
civicryda2k- it sucks to hear this happend to you, and that you are thinking about calling it quits. im sure if you do give up on turbo- you'll be back sooner then you think, boost is too addicting
. either way, best of luck to you with whatever path you choose

sounds a LOT like my luck... don't take it as a sign to quit. instead, take it as a test of life, overcome the problems no matter what, and you will come out on top... it's just a developement of one's inner self.
at least thats what I keep telling myself...
maybe take a break, but don't quit.

I totally agree. My D series project has seemed doomed from day 1. First the bottom end I bought that was supposed to be good had spun bearings so I had to buy another crank. Bought a used set of crowers, one rod was bad. Had to wait almost 2 months and spend 180 bucks for a replacement rod. A few months ago after breaking in the built engine and after finally boosting it I start loosing oil pressure. Had to replace all of the bearings and the oil pump because some debris from the original spun bearings turned up from somewhere in the one of the galleys and messed the pump up. Blew up an input shaft bearing in the tranny the next week and had to tear it apart to fix that. Had it running very strong the last few weeks while street tuning it then I hear it starting to knock. Pulled the pan this weekend and find a spun bearing and a trashed crank. I dropped the rods off at the machine shop today and i am praying they can recondition the spun one, if not the wait from crower is going to kill me as my family is down a car right now. I have been stressed over this car because of all this but in the end I still will push forward even if I have to find a temporary motor. I have way too much time and money invested in it to take a loss and turn back when I am still so close. I would only be bored without my car to keep me busy anyways so I just accept the setbacks as part of having a fast car. It also helps I dont mind working on it that much, otherwise I would have found my breaking point a long time ago. I have had a taste of what the car is capable of and I know it will be worth it once I have it all sorted out.
