Default Intercooler Piping Material

What do you guys recommend...I want to buy all the bends and piping and get it welded up....is Stainless overkill...or can I just get alluminized steel and get it powdercoated? Any opinions.

stainless is over kill, but then mild steel rusts from the inside out...mine did...and it costs an arm and a leg to get it coated inside

I had all my IC piping, valve cover and heat shields all microcoated (thermal barrier) which gives it a polished look and keeps the intake charge cooler, take a look:

No. They are totally different. Aluminized steel will not rust for a long time. Mild gauge steel (cold rolled or hot rolled) will rust immediately and needs to be protected.

Think of aluminzed steel as mild steel with a coat of good paint.

Stainless is overkill.

Is the Aluminized steel the stuff you can buy from JC Whitney?
