Default Intercooler piping

Has anyone herd of people ever useing stainless steel piping for there intercooler set-ups

yes i have, the problem is that it will hold heat longer than aluminum due to it being a denser metal.

Yes stainless is used for charge piping as well.

In fact I have all stainless charge piping on my car. Love the look and I can crank down the tbolts on it to keep them from blowing off couplers without deforming it like you can with aluminum at times.

I might change to aluminum at some point for weight more than anything, possibly to upgrade to 3" as well. So far though I have made plenty of power through this 2.5" stainless as it is.

Stainless does hold heater longer but it also takes longer to heat up as well. Aluminum on the other hand heats up much faster but also dissipates it quicker. Its a trade off.

Seems like personal preference in the end though.

Becuase I want to make my own and i can weld stainless not aluminum. Is one better than another or will one make more power than another ? do you have any pics of your set up or any stainless set ups

I also used stainless. I might have some pics somewhere, but they just look like any other IC piping...only with stainless.
