That sounds very reasonable, however, if you engine can outflow the piping wouldn't the piping then be a hinderance(sp?)?

For example my engine @ pr = 2.02 should (theoretically) flow ~551cfm, if later I wanted to boost 18psi rather than the 15psi I plan on then the 2" piping would be a restriction since a pr = 2.22 on my engine gives me ~607cfm, right? Or am I looking at this all wrong.

Exactly, too small you will loose power, too big there will be a minute difference in spool, very minute. I just finished reading that other post and "turncoat" is right.

Thanks for the clarification Tony, in my original posts I was just trying to get the author to consider that the pipe size might be a restriction if he was looking for higher flows than the piping could allow. I think that I might just go with the 2" from comp to tb, because my desired max hp will only be ~400hp. Also, this is a very good price for ic piping.

2" intercooler piping is a bit small for 400hp. I'm not saying you can't do it, but it will be a restriction. If you want to make your stuff the right size, i've got aluminum bends pretty cheap, in all sizes. You'll have to make it yourself though, don't know if that's a possibility or not. For 400hp, i'd do 2.25" to the ic and 2.5" to the t/b, at least. Again, no downside to going too big, the difference in lag will not even be noticable.

Thanks for the tip, appreciate it. I'll deffinately follow your advice.

I wish I could make the piping myself, but we only have one of the cheaper miller tig machines and a crappy lil' wire feed mig. I would need a better tig even though we did just get some helium in

A cheap miller tig should weld these fine, you only need 100amps output or so for thin aluminum like this.

The welders we have here say that our tig is kinda crappy to heli-arc weld with, but maybe I'll c if I can round up some alum fill and get them to help me (I am a HORRIBLE welder).

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what bends/lengths of tubing I need, looks to me like 6 90's, 1 45 (or another 90) and maybe a ~7' straight tube. What are your prices on the bends and straight tubing??

I already have mild steel ic tubing, but figured that aluminum would b better.
