Default Inline fuel pump with stock fuel pump???

Shoud I remove the stock intank fuel pump. I'm currently running the inline one by bosch and was hearing that the intank one will be a drag on the inline one and will cause it to work harder than it has to. My fuel setup right now is just a 12:1 Vortech FMU. What do you guys think?

well logically it seems better to remove the intank pump, that's what I did. Although I used to run an intank pump with the Bosch inline and it was fine as well. But since removing the stock pump is about a 20 min job by the time it's all done I would say just do it.

Depends where you have your inline pump mounted. If you have it mounted near the tank, then you should be okay. If not, you will have to prime the pump for quite a few seconds everytime you want to start the car. As for performance, the stock pump might hurt flow, but not much.

Since the two of you are from San Diego, I'll post also. I think the 12:1 FMU is too big, I have one and I've been fooling with it to get it at a steady 100psi. Secondly, I've heard the same thing about the stock fuel pump being a restriction. I would have removed my oem pump, but it is under a bracket behind the seat, it seemed like alot of work to do in my apt. parking lot. If you've got time, do it. Try to put it at a level where there is always fuel in the lines, a bit lower than the top of the gas tank. Hell, put in the place of the original. Maybe it'll be quieter, less wires runnin all over the place, and you can use the stock fuel pump power lines.....
