I have a d16z6 dd.

its on 8psi built bottom end etc..
garrett turbo, ebay long cast iron manifold, etc..

i have a exhaust leak from the turbo manifold to the turbo because the gasket blew.. would that cause my high idle..?
i re-check coolant, and bled my radiator.. no leaks.. no check engine lights.. and my idle stays at 1500-2000.

what could it be?

 

IACV on the back of the intake mani. change it out.

If that does nothing you need to look into your tune and see if the issue is there.

Probably a bad IACV though.

 

Change the gasket

 

Test the iacv first don't just swap it out like num nuts said up top.
Remove it bench test it verify your wiring is correct than if its the problem than swap it. Save your self some money. Have you also set your base idle?

Shut ur mouth and you might learn something.
Op to verify your wiring one wire should have a 12v positive with the key on. The other wire check continuity from the iacv connector back to the ecu harness plug. That wire gets a pulsed negative from the ecu opening the iacv solenoid. Since I have no idea you make and model ecu and harness being used you have to find the pinout locations.

Also it sounds more like a vacume leak.
Remove your intake arm cover the trottle body with your hand if your motor stays on you'll hear where your leak is coming from.

 

I would start by changing the gasket I mean you should do it anyway do why not before you start taking stuff of.
Then if your problem is gone then your good if not well do what turbohatch said not what boosted D said, just because you have an idle problem dosnt mean its the iacv

 

i would look for intake mani leaks, spray brakeclean on im, if idle changes, you have a im leak

 

LMAO I actually agree with everything you have said in this thread, I just threw a quick answer out there when I said IACV because I was short on time and I have had a ton of those things go bad.....

Why not just get rid of the gasket between the turbo and manifold. I never had any problems running without one.

 

well i put a new gasket on the turbo/mani so i'm a test it out when I get home / awake today.

 

You don't need a gasket between manifold and turbo. The surfaces are flat and seal fine without one. I somehow doubt a turbo manifold gasket is causing high idle problems though. It's either tps, throttlebody or iacv or tune issue
