Have you tried adding more fuel? Like making your number -45 or even -43 or something? I have a steady idle with DSM 450's and my idle is set at -41 (on a d16z6)

I have my buddies civic tunned at -24 @ idle. Anything higher it would die and much lower it would die too... I think each setup is a bit different. This netted 14 AFRs for us on our setup.

wow, -31% at idle??? I'm curious at why its so low, compared to most peoples settings with 440's or 450's. I run anywhere between -45 to -42% and it runs great, making it more rich bringing it to -35% at 7,000 rpms. Just something I've noticed, me just thinking that would be rich as hell with 440's at -31%

I'm not very familiar with tuning the afc, but can you even adjust the fuel at idle since the car is going to be running in closed loop?

I had 440s and VAFC, stock pressure regulator, it idled and ran fine from April to late May, then once the weather got up to around 80, 85 degrees, the car idled like total dogfuck. I ended up using the 'oldone' mod where you drill a tiny orifice into the stock regulator inlet to lower idle fuel pressure, it helped, but it still idled like *** at any setting (believe me I tried everything..) I did manage to pull 12.7s with that setup when the weather was cold.

I was never able to get the car to run right with the VAFC and 440s, I think the P73 ECU is also particularly difficult to trick under certain circumstances.

This is why I now have Hondata and couldn't be happier.
