Default Ideal time to spay?

I have hooked up my first nitrous system its just a 50 shot but it actives off a rpm switch and a wot switch. my thinking is spray about 400rpms before vtec is this a good idea or will all hell break lose if i spray at low cam profile? i probably will never spray in 1st gear so i guess it really doesn't matter. its on a b16, is spraying out of vtec a bad thing?

I had a B16 on a 100 shot wet. I never sprayed till 2nd gear, about 5k. My vtec engaged at 46. I just figured less wear and tear on the motor. The higher up in the rpms, the less load on the motor. 18 bottles later, never had a problem. Just watch your plugs. They tell all.
