Vtec as Nitrous Activation?
So here is the question, I am running a 75shot Dry NOS brand kit. Heater and purge as well. I am looking to activate the setup without using a traditional switch on the throttle body. I know i can hook into the Vtec wire to activate the spray.
But..... Is this a good idea? Is there any reason to do this? My thinking is that if I activate at Vtec, it won't activate when leaving the line at the strip and will give me a chance to launch and get traction before it sprays.
Does anyone see any problem with this setup?
It's a OBD0 B16 and a Chip that has Vtec at 5k RPM and runs -.5 degrees at Idle, -1 degree at 3k rpm, and -3 degress at 7k rpm.
I am open to other suggestions too.

that sounds like a good idea as long as the nitrous switchs on using a ground like the vtec activates. i had a wet kit before I couldn't activate it through the ecu because it turns on using a 12v not a ground
good luck I hope it works

you could do that, and use a relay to activate the nitrous. not sure why though, unless you plan on roasting the tires b16 + 75 shot + 1st gear = no traction
If I were you, I would rock a window switch instead. It can be done using the vtec solenoid but then when it breaks the tires loose and shoots to redline, you may not get out of the throttle quick enough to keep it from spraying against the rev limiter.
If that happens, it's bye bye exhaust valves. You can get a digital window switch from MSD for extremely cheap now days so there is no reason not too.
