Default I need advice ASAP.

ok, i didn't really know where to post this. But it was raining all day. As I drove home, i noticed my car started to sputter, like its out of gas. but i know it was getting water in. My intake tube runs down in front of my tire, but there is plastic in between the tire and filter. I let it run inside my garage for a while when i got home, and its fine, it just spurtered for a little while. is anything going to be messed up now becasue of this? I know hydro locked motors are the worse thing, and i don't want that to happen. Im going to cut the intake tube, that way if it rains, i can move the filter to up in the motor.
But i just need some asurance right now to make sure its going to be alright, or if there is something i should do right now since it sucked in some water.
and i know, i know...
but it never happened before, and im not sure if my baby is going to be ok or not.

yeah, it runs now. it just sputtered when i tried to give it gas on the way home. it ideled fine in the garage. I know that if it hydrolocked, it would just be done, and junk. But i didn't know that if i should watch out for anything that can go wrong from getting water in the motor. But it should be fine. I just have to make it so that when it rains, it doesn't suck air from infront the tire.

i did the same thing a long time ago...take it off and clean it let it sit overnight cause if there was water being thrown on the filter then all that dirt was as well. Clean it

yeah, i took my who cold air off right when i got home. and dryed it. but its a heated garage, so hopfully it all dryes out over night. I hate water. not my friend. and its hard enough to get traction when its dry, my cluth engages, and just spins. water is not my friend.
But thanx guys. its good to know it will be ok.
