Ok, so I sucked up water last night...
I sucked it up, CAI sucks in the rain. It wasnt even that. It was my dumb *** fault. I went threw like a lake (puddle) at IDLE speed last night. Thank god I made it home, but studdering until 4 grand. What should I do??! Change the oil? The car has been sitting overnite, so hopefully dried out. After I went threw the puddle and my car started to studder, I diconnected the filter side of the intake piping from the manifold side. So I was basically running with no filter. Oh well, rather suck air than water. Whats your suggestions besides sarcasm and motor swaps?
Thanks
Thanks

I'm 95% sure your alternator is wet, which would cause your **** to studder all the way to high rpms. Take it apart and dry it off. Let us know whats up.

Another suggestion is to get some starter fluid. Hopefully you can spray some in your intake and if there is any water it will mix in and slowly dissolve. This will help alot to turn on your car if it wont turn over.

Just let it dry.
hydrolocking would most likely occur when driving under water. it also would have happened by now. all the water that would have gotten in your engine is in now, and obviously didn't hurt the engine.
like the guy above said, your problem lies elsewhere. check your alternator, but i'd be willing to guess you car is fine now since it dried overnight.

What you shoud do is take the plugs out and turn the motor over a couple of times with no plugs in it. This will pump out any water that is in there whatsoever. After that i would change the oil and you should be good to go.

I hydrolocked my b16 last year luckily I didnt damage anything but the motor would not crank over so I figured I take the plugs out and crank it it looked like a fountain. I also sucked in water last night and my h22 sputtered all the way till 4k rpm's after that it was fine. Your car should be fine now.

My bro sucked up so much water into his GS-R that his car shut off completely. he got it towed to work and took off the intake and let it sit for a while. it started up but didnt drive to well for a while. it drives fine now but he went back to stock intake. maybe u should switch to AEM cold air and get the bypass valve. i was in a car with it and it works great. just some info.

99.9% of the water is turned to vapor with the heat of the intake manifold. It takes a lot of water to actually hydrolock an engine. 1 measly drop of water doesn't stand the slightest chance of making it anywhere near the combustion chambers.
In the old days, people poured water into their carberators in order to remove carbon build up in the engine.

Dude your not kidding me! Theres been so much rain its like a race horse in the sky.
Well, my car is still sputtering like hell. I also discovered that my #2 cylinder isnt getting alot of spark. Its getting spark, but not alot at all! #1, #3, and #4
What can be my problem!!? I mean jesus crist, I hate rain and cars that wont run right. I have $800 coming to me soon if this guy buys my motor likes he suppose to. I think I'm going to do a complete ignition and fuel upgrade. Should cost around $800-$1300. Well for the time being, I need my car to run.
Can I have some more suggestions? My #2 cylinder isnt sparking good at all and my car is sputtering like hell!
Thanks
