Default new turbo burning oil

my friend installed his greddy sohc kit and for the first min. he ran the car some oil smoke was coming out his exhaust then it stopped and there was a little oil in the charge pipes, but it hasn't happened since. Do new turbos burn a little bit of oil @ first, or is this out of the ordinary? Thanks

Default Re: new turbo burning oil (94dxt)

new turbochargers usually are oiled liberally, and the exhaust housings usually come with a protective coating that can give fumes off.. i wouldn't worry about it too much, unless it continues to burn oil.
