question about intake
so its raining a lot here in socal. a LOT. i was a bit worried cause i have a comptech short ram intake with no air box so the filter is exposed. on top of that i have a CF hood with NO weather stripping. is it possible for the filter to get wet and potentially damage my engine? need to know ASAP. thanks
fyi.
I got a cai, drove in the pouring rain for 20 minutes, at the time had my fender liner removed. Car still runs fine. People need to understand damage comes only when the filter is submerged in standing water.

you can get hydrolocked pretty easily with a cai intake by simply driving through a deep puddle, even with your fender liner on. there are countless stories of this in the archives. i was always careful with my old car having that had a cai and never had issues for 3 years, but the bypass valve does give piece of mind (and a little insurance).
