Default i just got a block to build, i am so happy!! pics inside

it might not be pretty but it was free!! the guy told me he broke a rod, but when i took off the oil pan i found a few metal shavings but nothing broken. i did notice when i turned it over with a wrench i noticed some play with the #4 cylinder. so i figure the berings are fucked on the #4 rod. the guy talked like he saw the rod broken but there was still oil in the pan and the oil filter was still on, so i dont think he even looked. i do have one question, the sleves in the block are they stock. i thought the stock block didn't have iron sleves.

When you resleeve the block by a company such as golden eagle, they put in sleeves that buttress the out side block to support the inner sleeves. They also make the sleeves thicker to take more punishement, or a bigger bore.

IMO, unless your shooting for the star's in HP, I would just look into a posting setup.

Surface rust. Not a problem. It's all over engines that havn't been used in a while. Just some time cleaning it up and it's as good as new.

i am going to send it to the machine shop to get cleaned up and inspected. i dont plan on posting it, just getting a block guard. not going to dumb too much money in this d series motor. my goal is 250hp but i think 300hp may be possible. any sugestions would help.
