Default Another G"LS"R GLSR build question thread.

Any of you guys have a gsr block with an ls crank set up? I wanted to know if you kept the oil squirters and if so how did you go about bending them and if you had some pictures that would be awesome.

I use a large, long flat blade screwdriver to pry between the crankshaft counterweight and the oil squirter and GENTLY bend the oil squirter down closer to the piston. You may also have to bend it inward toward the connecting rod to clear the piston as well. I typically do the two middle cylinders first and then the outer two cylinders. I don't have any pics to help you... sorry.

Don't bother.. Remove it. $12 for a GE oil squirter block kit. Don't risk it. This topic has been covered at length.

I deleted my oil squirters in my Type R, i installed Golden Eagle Kit for 14$ & am running 89mm LS crank with Cp pistons & BC LW rods at 12.5:1 compression. Theyll help with better oil pressure build up forged internals dont require constant oil cooling the pistons. However cast pistons do require it otherwise theyll get hot so ive heard.

Plenty of cast pistons using the same material compound on other vehicles (including factory turbo models from the same era) don't use oil squirters. They help with cooling, but don't necessarily destroy the car without them. This is of course including OEM cast units. I have no experience with NPR or other aftermarket companies that utilize cast pistons for Hondas without the use of the oil squirters.

alright guys thank you for the information. I was indecisive about buying the golden eagle kit or bending the squirters but I'm just going to buy the golden eagle kit. I'll rather not risk the squirters breaking and damaging my engine.
