How was your first experience with BOOST?
i did some searching and found a little here and there, but not a lot.
Ok guys I know this question sounds a bit cheesy,
Im going to be turboed in a couple weeks ideally, and am starting to get really pumped.
I want to hear all about the first time you drove a turbo car. How did you react? Can you describe it? lol lets hear it how was that trip home from the tuner?

Well since I was the builder and tuner there really was no trip home. But it was the best feeling ever. Even at 6 psi off the wastegate it felt like a rocket. Just be careful, you dont realize how much faster you are going sometimes at first. O yeah, Boost is a drug, you will always want more in bigger doses. Once you go boost you dont go back.

its true.
The first time i drove my car (while it was being street tuned) it spooled up to 4psi and i was hooked..then a charge pipe blew off
then after your car's at a set power level and you drive it for a while it gets boring..so you crank up the boost and its fun again..and the viscious cycle begins

not to thread jack, but what was everyone's regrets -- anything you would have done differently that would've taken some of the headaches away?

Re: (AF-P Dunc)
Just got my first turbo setup tuned Friday.
I've never exited a car shaking with adrenaline and fear at the same time.
Never EVER going back to N/A... but I think 8.5psi is good for a couple months.

I remember driving my boosted sohc for the first time a few years back. First day i ran 15psi of untuned headgasket blowing boost. It felt amazing

My first drive in a turbo car was probably about 6 years ago or more in a friends Turbo LS hatch. It was a 12 second car at the time with a sohc greddy kit modified for the B series(and FMU). Spooled very fast and pulled damn hard as well. I was hooked that day and havent been the same since haha.

Started off with very mild intentions. I said to myself no more than 7 psi. Well I went to 9 then 11 and finally quit at 13 psi....Only because my clutch could not handle the torque anymore. Thank god.

I was just pissed that i didnt do it earlier... After spending all that money on all motor stuff and not getting anything out of it, i went to boost and couldnt believe how much 5psi made a difference.
First time driving the car, got on it on first and the car just raped the tires, went to second and the same thing... I was hooked.

i know it is very shocking how much of a difference 5psi makes, my buddy had a sohc with a greddy kit, i was like dude theres no way thats only 5psi i think something is wrong. but it was only 5psi. a guy ive talked to says hes going all motor because he likes to see the effects of each part making power not just turn up the boost......f that turn up the boost. for the price of an intake, header exhaust, and a few other n/a parts u can afford a cheap crap turbo kit that will net u 200% more of a gain than those parts

I remember my first ride in my old ef w/b16 turbo. i could NOT stop laughing. I was hysterical. I was only running 7psi and could not believe the force this thing had. it was, just, crazy. by far the best feeling ever.
haha and then you get used to letting off the gas all hard so the bov goes off loud. haha i remember the good old days.

First boost experience:
I drove a mint GMC Syclone, black Corvette rims, momo seats, momo harnesses, and like 6 layers of red paint etc. It was garaged and pampered, single owner had put about 10k miles on it, so the engine was very strong.
He was actually a customer at work and randomly threw his keys at me and said "Here, do whatever you want to it; just don't wreck it." So I got all giggly and hopped in the Syclone, and had fun with it for about 10 minutes. Everytime I punched it off the line, it felt like a typical V6 S10. But then around 2000 rpms there was this massive increase in power that made me just grin ear to ear. I wanted that truck so bad, but it was just out of my price range.
After that I knew I needed to have a turbo... Within a month I sold my SOHC-supercharged setup and bought two B18 engines. One to smog with the state, and one that was fully built in the garage. The rest is history...
