how will my engine run if i do this?
i have a d16z6 built with eagle rods and vitara pistons. it is on the engine stand in my garage. i have not completed my turbo kit yet (still going back and forth on a couple things). i would like to go ahead and swap the d16 into my car and then put the turbo kit in later. if i do this i'm guessing i'm going to lose some power which doesn't really bother me seeing as i don't have any with my current d15b7 and autotragic. but would this be ok to do? anything bad that could happen?

Hey man.
I am at about 6k on my vitara non-turbo, due to inability to find some parts. I will be finally finishing it in a few weeks, just waiting on some IC bends
Anywho, You aren't going to hurt anything at all, it will just be doggy as hell.
Are you camming yours or doing any other upgrades? reason i ask is i found this helped me out a lot!! Decent air intake and a full exhaust don't hurt either. Hope you got a head stud kit too.

I know a few people that have done the same thing and a good build will still have decent power even if it set up for low compression

Well i run 550's only because i thought i would get it out of the way, as i had the ability to burn a chip for my ecu. If you change to bigger injectors, you will need to do this, so you might as well wait until turbo-tune day and just do it at that time.
Don't forget your connectors if ya gotta change em!!
