Default how safe is ZEX?

just got a zex kit and i'm wanting to spray in my jdm gsr motor. just wondering how safe it is. i will be only spraying a 50 shot. i have rc 310cc injectors...not installed and a walbro 255lph fuel pump...not installed. i can install those parts if i need to.

also....can the zex kit be armed after you shift from first gear or it has to be armed before you take off from the line? i really don't want to use it in first gear.

let me know what you guys think.

thanks

I had a ZEX 55 shot in my Prelude for about a year. I prob went through like 30-50 bottles with NO problems. I was using stock injectors and stock fuel pump. You can arm the system whenever you want. As long as the bottle is open, you just flip the switch, and it will spray as soon as you hit full throttle. Just make sure you install it correct and you should be cool.

yeah....i'm looking at the installation instructions now. it doesn't look to hard.

one thing though....the two vacum lines, one goes to the fpr and one goes to the intake manifold right? so do i take the vacum line from the IM to the fpr off and put the ones from the zex box there?

or does the one from the zex box go to a vacum source off the IM and the other one i will need to tap into the vacum hose going from the fpr to the IM?

know what i mean?

thanks

a 32 jet is 55hp and a 35 jet is 65hp....so what is a 34 jet size in hp? i'm thinking of using the 34 jet in my set up. would it be like 58hp?????

should i up the fuel pressure also or leave it at stock settings?

would rc 310cc injectors be a good idea to use also...i have a set laying around along with a walbro 255lph fuel pump that i used when i was LS-T.

no you dont need to up the fuel pressure. Zex computer thing taps into your vacume line going to the FPR. When it sences the zex come on it measures the pressure and such and automatically increases fuel pressure by the right amount.

Its super safe.

ZEX is safe. I'm running a 65 shot on a stock fuel system on my B18C1.

you running a wet or dry kit?

are you using the stock gsr ecu or a chipped p28?

the only thing i will have is an aem fuel rail for any type of fuel mod and maybe and b&m fpr. will also be using an msd ignition kit.

No Timing Advancment chips, and no Fuel mods needs, the Rc injectors and the fuel pump are not needed but if you REALLY want to be safe then go ahead, but if not then save em for another project. You'll be fine , ive had tons of friends run em and they have never had a problem, i wish i had that instead of a NOS system, WANNA TRADE?!!!?

well, i think the ecu i have, a kenji chipped ecu, advances the timing. i sold the injectors, so i can't use those anyway. i have the fuel pump sold too. i thought that fuel pump will add too much fuel, so i have the stock civic fuel pump right now. the only thing i have is an aem fuel rail.

i plan to retard the timing from the distributor 2 degrees, use one step colder plugs, install my msd kit, use 93 octane, and spray a 65 shot or less.

At a 75 shot the fuel pump is pretty much necessary. Fuel injectors will also be at their limits.

No, fuel pump increses the pressure in the lines, also increasing volume of fuel that can flow. The fuel is still regulated before it gets to your injectors. Adding a fuel pump makes it so there is sufficent fuel flow for higher RPM's.

Injectors are what sprays the fuel.

so i should use the fuel pump?

i don't have the injectors anymore, so i can't use those. i'm going to spray a 65 shot or less. i don't want to spray a 75 shot.

I'm just asking. Cuz I'm thinking about using a small shot of nitrous on my stock F23A4. And I've heard good things about wet kits. How much of a price difference between ZEX and NX?
