I didnt even know there were all these gauges. I dont have 10 spots for gauges.
-What are the for sure necessary ones
-how many gauges do most people have
-since you can see what your a/f is from a dyno is it not necessary to have a a/f
-I wasnt going to get a wideband ill just use the shops for tuning

I'm going with...
-oil pressure (always good insurance)
-boost (gotta have the boost gauge!)
-wideband o2 (I'm going to "street tune" my car w/ VAFC, this will be cheaper for me than going to a shop and doing it there.)
If I were going to just take my car to a shop and have them do the tuning, I would just get oil pressure and boost, you don't need one of those autometer light shows

A/F gauge doesn't mean crap. Just rainbow light show.
Boost + Oil pressure are absolutely necessary. If you lose oil pressure, get your *** off the road right away.
EGT is nice to keep tabs on. Should tune at dyno anyway but wideband costs a fortune if you want that to tune in real time.
After proper tune, you shouldnt worry about fuel pressure but have one on the fuel rail for idle baseline especially with bigger injectors.

Notice I was referring to a wideband a/f gauge. If you're referring the Autometer one then I totally agree with you that its useless.

There is also a boost gauge on the steering column.
The Autometer A/F gauge is for MONITORING. That is what it was designed for, that is what it is good for, that is why you should have one.

I'm running boost/oil pressure/fuel pressure along the a-pillar. Those are the absolute necesities, IMO. If I want to check on anything else i'll bring my laptop around and run the digital dash with the AEM.
got a brand new EGT for sale for cheap: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=889773

right now i only have one (boost). it's more than enough to just get you started. in the future i will have more than one, specifically the ones mentioned above.

I think after tuning the only ones that are NEEDED are:
-oil pressure
-water pressure
-boost
Please if you want to prove me wrong DO IT. I want to make sure I have the right ones for a REASON. Were here to argue in a good way
