Default How much tuning necessary?

Im dropping my turbo set up in later this week and then im shipping my ECU over to xenocron to get chipped. With them having all my specs, once they chip my ECU will the car run fairly well for a while with out getting it dyno tuned, or do i need to get it tuned immediately? i do realize that tuning is a must but im about out of funds is why i ask.

The problem with sending your ECU away is that every car is different as well as the turbo setup... You cant tune a car correctly without throwing in a wideband, dataloging, checking plugs, and changing timing...

its like phone sex, it just doesnt work

Save your time and money and have your tuner/shop chip the ECU and either have it street/dyno tuned all at the same time.

The car will run fine, probably rich from 2 cars I've seen off his basemaps (perfectly fine). Don't boost and get to a tuner as soon as you can....no rush, but I bet you'd like to save gas. The problem with you not having enough funds is not a good sign. With a boosted moddified honda you need a little buffer if something happens (axel, clutch, injector, etc). You'll need a little money on the side just in case something happens and you need this car .

Recap: Don't boost (not even once to risk it) and get it tuned ASAP

as far as the buffer goes, ive also got a 97 4runner so if the car goes down and i have to wait for a pay period to fix it then i can. thanx for the input. another question. the setup that i bought from the guy here on ht comes with a missing link. on my DA my map sensor is firewall mounted instead of on the tb. can i use this missing link or will i have to do something else?

You will be removing the missing link and run the map sensor as normal. Now if I understand right the "setup" you bought uses a missing link, but "your" car has a firewall mounted map sensor. If so, is that a 3 bar or 2.5 bar map sensor? You need to know these things as well as the missing link problem .
