Icon2 Phearable Tuning...

Anybody ever run a chip from this company? I got the turbo all set up in my car and I want to get there chip (with all my info on my set up) and see if itll work. Will it run my set up any good? or reliably? or is it only good just to drive to a dyno?

base maps are for getting to a tuner anyone who drives there car aggressively on one is asking for trouble. Find a tuner in your area and work with them.

A replacement engine will cost you how much? No matter the engine it will be more than a quality tune and you will still need a tune the second time around

I have used there chips and purchased ECU's from them They work fine. BUT as already been stated (it is also stated by phearable) its just to get your car running and to the dyno any basemap is just for that.

Probably be cheaper to pick up a chipped ecu locally. Talk to your tuner and he will more then likely load a map for you to get the car to him so he can put it on the rollers.

A basemap is an ecu program that is specifically modified for your vehicle & its modifications, however a basemap cannot be relied on to be used as a final tune for an application such as yours unless you have a widbeband oxygen sensor gauge to monitor the air fuel ratios such as an innovate mtx-l.

If the air fuel ratios are not on target the vehicle will need to be tuned using the chipped ecu or a system like hondata s300 or neptune etc.

I use phearable.net for years religiously, simply because the results are professional, consistent, and Reliable... I mean look at his posts and website!

I have bought thousands of dollars in parts for my clients through them, for years.

As stated above, basemaps are NOT A TUNE. They are fuel/coolant/vac leak testers for new setups and a safe point to allow you to drive the vehicle to calibration.

yep, they pull bunch of extra timing and dump in extra fuel....I beat on a car for 1-2 months on a basemap, will it work, yeah...it ran 15.0@ like 89 mph on a boosted d15. I got it tuned and man was it a whole new beast, managed to pull low 14's out of it, and later tuning for more boost and 13's

Oh you are THAT guy at the track on a basemap...
Nice improvements on a D15 for sure. Those little engines can take a beating!

I boost limit my basemaps specifically to stop people from doing that. If the engline blows on a basemap, they'll blame the tuner no matter how much you warn them.
