HOW TO INSTALL THE WASTEGATE RING SEAL????? AND IT WAS SEARCHED!!!
I just searched tial wastegate seal and got 2 hits. They asked where to buy one at but nothing else.
I just got it in the mail from a H-T member "BURKE" (thank you) and I installed it as pictured on the tial site.
I still have a leak between the wastegate and manifold. The ring seal isn't flush with the manifold flange and I was wondering if this seal needed to be pressed in or any other way? I pushed with my hands but it wouldn't go in for anything. I don't have access to a press or any type of clamp till tomorrow but also don't want to force anything that isn't made to be pressed.
Any help would be very good at this point. thanks in advance

when you screw in the bolts, it should push it in a bit more so there is a smaller gap, cause the valve seat is suppose to put a bit of pressure and seal up nicely

I have tightened it down really tight and there is still a 1/8" gap between the wastegate and the manifold flange for the wastegate. I don't think a gasket will solve that big of a gap.
Has anyone had this problem before? Does it need to be pressed in or taken apart and then install the seal?
I asked the guy I bought it from and he said he owned 2-38mm and 1-35mm wastegates. He said it might have been the seal from a 35mm but on road race enginerring they have the seal for sale and it says 35/38mm ring seal so it should be the same for the both.
Damn this sucks and just never ends for me.

Is it in upside down? The larger O.D. of the ring should be against the manifold.

Yeah I have the larger side against the manifold. I'll try to get some pic sup if I can't fix the problem today.

That's weird man.... on mine the ring sits in there against the valve and sticks out the bottom just a hair, then when I tighten it down to the manifold it puts pressure on the valve and stays shut...
It's hard to describe, but I think it would be hard to install the ring seal wrong so you must have the wrong ring or something...
Are you sure it's leaking? Do you have a gasket between the manifold and wastegate?

It's leaking I can hear it but it's not real loud but it's there. It looks to be the right ring seal the size is just right to fit inside the wastegate against the valve seat. I have it off the car right now but no camera to take pics. Hopefully I can figure it out.
