Default tial wastegate question.

ordered a tial 38. when it came it had

wastegate
2 metal gaskets
2 vac nipples

now my question is the bottom of the wastegate that bolts to the manifold has a ring that sits out from the rest of the wastegate flange. i installed it with one of the supplied gaskets and when bolted tight there is a gap between the manifold flange and wastegate flange from the ring that sits out. is it supposed to be like that or should the flanges be flush with each other.

wasnt sure if that ring was suppose to seat inside of the manifold.

It should sit flush. That metal ring your talking about should since nicely right up inside the bottom of the wastegate. Then as you torque it onto the manifold it presses down and both flanges come together and should be together with no gap.

when the wastegate was on it didnt appear to be leaking at all, but im worried about warping it or ruining it. the ring on bottom is larger than the flange hole. took i pic to help the supplied gasket is in the pic to.

when bolted down tight the ring sits fluch to the manifold, but not the rest of the flange.

Yeah thats fine. Everything looks correct. Just put the gasket in between and bolt that thing on. Take some pics after its on if your still unsure. But it looks fine.
