Default how to break in rings on rebuilt motor

I broke in my car, before i boosted it. and NOW im hearing from friends that when you put new rings in under boost your supposed to run full boost, or what you plan to run at the track to make the rings seat at high boost...is this true? It sounds like a bad idea to me, what do you think?

Default Re: how to break in rings on rebuilt motor (97turboteg)

i break them in on boost, but not what i run at the track. I run 25psi daily driven, so i break my motors in on 15or so psi. I run them up to about 6k under boost and let them engine decel, i do that the first 20 min or so then ill change the oil, and daily drive it with spurts of boost for 300-500 miles.
