what's up folks!
I'm getting a hondata s200 installed for my JRSC Si. Im running a p28 w/ a base program for jrsc@12lbs w/ 3 bar map sensor. RC 440cc injectors, IAT on JR manifold, OBDII-I wiring adapter installed.
Everything is installed. Perfect. Go to start the car, does not start!! Just keeps cranking. Check the plugs, it's FULL of fuel. Check the LED on the blue box, it keeps blinking! So what now?
When we tried to start, the serial cable was connected on the blue box but wasnt connected to a laptop. Also the car still had the stock map sensor on but the basemap is for a 3 bar. Would these 2 things cause the blue box LED to blink and throw the car in LIMP HOME mode? The wires that go from the p28 and blue box look fine and connected to me. So I will get the 3bar put on and that serial cable disconnected and see what happens...
Also, would the fuel pressure and timing settings cause the car to not start and cause the blue box LED to blink? I don't think timing and FP were set to stock yet...
Anyone with any clues/ideas? Thanks

You need to use the map sensor that the map is setup for.
Are you sure you are going to actually hit 12 psi? I use my stock map sensor and hit 11 psi. Withonly one more pound of boost you can safely run the stock map sensor, just make sure the boost cut is not enabled.

according to Autometer boost gauge, everytime I floor the gas @ higher RPMs I hit 11 and it creeps to 13lbs
Now I see that the gauge can be inaccurate. But everytime I do it, I get a CEL and the car runs like /\$$. Check the code and it's the map sensor. This was on stock P2T ECU, stock map sensor and JR piggybacks btw. I had to reset the ECU everytime it did that. Basically I couldn't floor the car
So I just went ahead with the 3 bar when I purchased Hondata. Figure it wouldn't hurt anything.
Thanks for your input
any other ideas fellas?

you didn't answer the queston though....you need to make sure the program running your car was setup with the right map sensor, and that you are using the correct callibration numbers for the sensor you have....many pepole get gm sensors that are not the right ones and have problems with them because of it.
The reason you got a cel on the stock ecu was becaseu it did not know what to do with boost. With the Hondata, it will not throw a cel even if you slightly exceed the limits of the sensor. Since a JRSC will not over boost like a turbo will you should be completely safe with a stock sensor. You may want to see if your tuner can provide you with a JRSC Big Boost tune from hondata that uses the stock map sensor and put your stock sensor back in, and see how that works for you..it's worth a shot and you may be pleasantly surprised.

UPDATE
well the problem is fixed. my installer said they had a few wires mixed up (or so he says). Either way, the car runs great! Just needs to be dyno tuned.
Thanks Spunkster
