Hondata s300 in a P72?

Default Hondata s300 in a P72?

Hey whats up guys i got a p72 ecu and a honda s300 unit. My question is if i have somebody install it in my ecu do i have to keep the butterfly manifold intake because of the two stages of vtec that are programmed into the p72 ecu

I think you are asking if you MUST keep the stock GS-R manifold with your P72? The answer is no, you do not.

If you ditch the stock one the P72 will try to engage the secondaries at 5750RPM, but they won't be there. And the P72 won't care.

There isn't two stages of vtec on a p72. There is a vtec engagement & an intake air butterfly system which the ecu opens. The ecu doesn't care if you use the intake air butterfly control or not.

So the answer is yes, you can use a p72 with or without intake air butterfly's installed on the engine.
