Hondata and relocating a Sensor Question ..
I got a quick question. Im going to get a vacuum port welded on my charge pipe for my boost controller, but I was wonder ... do you think i should ask these guys to re-locate my AIT Sensor (Air Intake Temp).
Currently its in the charge pipe intake, right before the turbo. I thought when most guys install Hondata and get it tuned its recommended to relocate it just before the throttle body, on the charge pipe so you would get an accurate reading of the air after its been cooled by the intercooler.
Hopefully this isnt too confusing, I just wanted to save myself a trip back to the shop if this is needed.
So What do ya think? Most cars that are tunned, do they relocate it, or just leave in the intake piping?

I just left mine in the charge pipe, i have thought about relocating it. Guess i should before i get my EMS tuned.

If I were you I would get the IAT sensor from an integra and mount it in the manifold, this will give you the best temp readings and allow the car to get the best A/F ratio when properly tuned.

yeah you're right. i think the best place to put it is in the charge pipe in front of the throttle body for your application.
since i am using the aem ems, i got a GM IAT sensor and had Tony weld in a 3/8NPT bung to screw it in. then i updated my calibration file with the response curve of the GM sensor.

The B16 manifold has a spot for the AIT from an integra. It is on runner #1 (closest tot he drivers side). YOu will need to drill a hole in the denter of the flange and then use a good oring to seal it and tap 2 more holes to put in the screws to hold it. Sounds more complicated than it really is.I can post pics if you really want later.. I have my ITR manifold and a b16 manifold at home.
