Default hondata interface problem

i just recently had a problem with my hondata stage 2 where the LED on the interface box flashes once or twice then goes out completely when the ignition is switched on, also the CEL is on and will not throw out any codes. i tried to reset the interface box by holding down the rev set button per hondata's instruction manual but no luck. anybody have any useful knowledge on what may be going on here and/or how to fix it?

yeah i already checked those like 40 times. thing is i know its getting a signal cause the light flashes, that also means its getting power. and i know there is nothing wrong with the ECU (as far as the rom being inserted backwards or jumper not installed) because it was working perfectly yesterday. it really sucks because it put a rev limit on my engine at 4000rpm

Damn, that sucks. Seems like a bunch of us is having some hondata issues that need to be addressed.
Did you check to see if the socket is getting a good contact. Sometimes solder joints will fail if they werent properly soldered. What I did during the soldering of the socket and that other chip was to push the bottom side/solder side of the pins side to side to make sure there was no movement. I had to solder some of the pins a couple of times because I didnt like how they looked/moved inside the board.
Or maybe try taking power away from the ecu from the fuse under the hood?...
Is the jumper a "jumper" type connection, or is it soldered?

to tell you the truth i really don't know what they did inside the ECU, i sent it off to be installed(in the ECU). all teh connections to the box seem to be fine and i did try to reset the ECU itself by pulling the fuse but all that got me was a reset clock i have been having problems with this thing from day one, when it works it is fantastic, but im not having a great track record with it soo far.

daym.. to think i was about to order a hondata this week, too. finally got my tax money. the thing is... theres always a new issue popping up every week. for some reason... the fmu, stock injectors, and inline fuel pump seems good enough for my boost needs. i think im going to change my mind on ordering it.

let me know what you guys figure out from Hondata tomorrow.

just talked to the guys at hondata, they want me to send my interface box back so they can check it out and possible replace the internals. i really hope thats what is wrong cause i just finished buttoning up the interior about 2 weeks ago and im not looking forward to ripping that ecu back out of there again. they are really helpful when you have a problem, i just wish i had less of them.

Default no clue..........

ok new potential problem. i went to send the iterface box back to hondata, so i disconnected it completely from the car and sent it off fed-ex. when i got back in my car to take it to the parking lot the CEL did not come on at all, whats up with that? i thought if the interface box wasn't connected the CEL would always be on with the ingnition? i have no clue at this point, im completely dumbfounded.

Or run over 4000 rpm with the box unplugged.

i thought the CEL would be on all teh time if the box was unplugged? anyway when i turned it on to dirve it to the parking lot it was off, but when i realised it was off it cut the car off, waited for a min or two and started it up again and the CEL was on the whole time(i ran it for about 2 mins). although i didn't try to pull any codes this time, but i doubt there were any.

did you ever figure out the problem? I just started having the same exact problem. Car worked fine yesterday, I go out to start it today and a solid CEL. I tried a different chip, same problem. I tried a friend's interface box... same problem.
