At least address the fact that the S300 can be matched by Crome and an Ostrich... about the only difference is cramming the emulator into the ecu case. Cost factors appeal to alot of people, when you can get similar/same results for less... and maybe learn something more along the way... that isn't such a bad thing.

on a sidenote of customer service...i dont think anyone can match john cui...ive emailed him the past 3 days....and got responses w/in 2-3 hrs of each email....jeeze i dont even get that kind of service from any parts store....and yes uber is nice in all...but once you understand crome...omg is sooo nice...car purs at idle...runs really well...and everyone thinks its extremly complicated...but in all its just sitting there for a day or 2 before tuning...and reading the forums...understanding how each pluggin works...and what you want from an end result...
i must say the best part of crome...is learning to do it own your own...and seeing the changes you make effect how the cars runs...dies etc...its just a great product that i have absolutely no complaits about!

Care to back that acusation up there, chief? I never 'borrowed' **** from Hondata on any of the stuff I put in Uberdata. Neither did anyone I know. Why would I want to use any of their off-base formulas and assumptions? Anyone notice how they fixed a lot of that when real mathematic were applied on pgmfi.org? I sure did. If thats how you REALLY feel you better start hating the following people also:
A.) TunerCAT (GM)
B.) LT1Edit (GM)
C.) EECTuner (Ford)
D.) TwEECer (Ford)
E.) TunerPro (GM and DSM)
F.) EvilScribe (DSM)
and the list goes on and on of 'OEM' bases ecu managment.
Autotune is a joke on every platform I've tried it on. Be it AEM, Hondata, Uberdata .. you name it. It's NOT a selling point and never will be for anyone serious about their cars tune. It even works like **** on my buddys Hydra Nemesis on his MR2.
Also I think its fair to say most people seriously considering using Uberdata, Crome or the like have neither the intentions or funds to run a pay system.
I would say Crome is defn got the edge over Uberdata now, Blake has lost interest in the project. However I still use Uberdata, only because it runs great from my USB Keyring I keep all my hackin' stuff on
Also the script engine and built in assembler lend well to my neeeeeeds.

I to think that autotune isn't what its cracked up to be, but I have only used it once. I think by hand is much more appealing to me, and it actually gets it done faster, if you know what you are doing.
But evilscribe is an interesting program, I use it for DSMs, that is really where I know most of the coding stuff from, but it isn't up to par with uber or crome, I think just because there isn't as big of a need I guess for it. Not many people know about it more or less, just people that make chips I guess.
I wish I knew more about this sort of thing, the people that take their time to do all the updates and such have my respect. So I don't think there is any need to bash any freeware for that reason.

i've tuned with s200, uberdata, crome, and although i haven't tuned with the s300 yet, i do have the software and crome has all of the important features that the s300 has. as far as which is better to tune with, crome wins hands down. i can get a much better tune a lot quicker and better drivability than any other program i've used. on a side note, i've ridden in a car that was 'mased' and the car runs like **** and he melted a cracked a cp piston on 12psi when the car was supposedly tuned for 19 psi on pump gas. now after a fresh rebuild with nothing changed on the set up except for bored .5 over to get past the cylinder scarring, the car runs like **** and is in the 10's under full boost and already has a blown hg after 500 miles, but hey, i bet all that timing got your great dyno numbers the day of the tune, just another notch on the bed post eh steve

I used EvilScribe as an example, you should check out TunerPro and the definition file on DSM-ECU list. It has a lot more editable items in it. Obviously since DSM's have mass-air meters and come turbocharged from the factory, they are plauged by another set of problems than Honda hackers. Most people in that scene just want to get around phantom knock, add antilag/stutter and change global injector compensation etc.
DSMLink (www.dsmlink.com), which I was actually an owner of, also shares some of the same technology the freeware guys do, but I don't see them pointing fingers at each-other saying who copied who. Theres also usually a big age differential between DSM/3S & Honda owners. Lets face it, there are finite ways to accomplish something using machine assembly code

i assure you this guy didn't touch anything with the tune, mase pass word protects them anyways to prevent it, hell, the guy won't even change his fuel pressure becauese "that's what steve tuned it to". my point was that everyone has an opinion, just like he already stated. in his opinion, since he's ridden in cars on crome and they ride like ****, who's to say they were tuned by a competant tuner, in this case the car was and it still drove like ****, so who's to say.........
Mase if your still browsing this topic i am dissapointed. You offered a rather unobjective viewpoint. You make yourself look ignorant when you talk about burning chips as a major pitfall and you ignore the options and variablity the plugins provide. I am quite suprized to see in your early arguments, such biased and opinionated information. You yourself are Mr. "this is a tech forum, and its gone to **** because people keep spinning thier opinions instead of facts."
Opinions are cool, but subjective facts are not.

I just do the editing by hand, I just use evil scribe for the fuel and ignition tables. Once I have a rom where I want it, I just change the injectors and what not.

lol ok cool guy.
last time i touched anthonys car, it had this AFR:

so you tell me why its my fault the car runs like "****" and rich now?
any time you change anything, especially internals of a motor, it can drastically change the tune.
i can not be responsible for how the car is assembled or built, plain and simple.
oh and you must be some tuner since you say it takes a lot of ignition timing to make power.

Neptune + Osrich > Hondata
price: $700 flat rate fully tuned partial and wot on dynapak from me.
in general my experience with hondata as compared to neptune is the neptune controls large injectors better than hondata... and hondata has a lot of connectivity issues both with the romulator and ostrich. lack of IAT user adjustable compensation on hondata is another problem.

Give me a break. That is a ridiculous comment once again. You are generalizing a lot of people there. Sure most uberdata and crome tuners don't get to touch the caliber of cars that mase does, but a few do. And I don't think their results are anything less than his.</TD></TR></TABLE>
werd, i have had no issues with the 350-450 whp cars i have tuned on crome.
most of the issues i run into have to do with **** done wrong. being that a lot of people are on a budget (read that as cheap) they tnd to do **** half assed. so you have vacuum leaks, and bad sensors and all sorts of ****.
i find that i get paid more hours for trouble shooting than i do for tuning.
as far as the crome pro vs hondata. its 6 of 1 half dozen of the other. you can tune a car with both of them (very well). crome doesnt cost as much (technically the end user doesnt have to buy any hardware), hondata has a few extra features; but as far as tuning fuel maps and adjusting multipliers for sensors and making a car run properly they play on the field.

theREALPROJECTEG was saying that Mase runs too much timing to make big numbers. I dont know **** about tuning so im not taking anyone's side. The car runs kinda shitty, but still strong right now. I need to get tuned again, point blank.

well the realprojectteg doesnt know **** about tuning if he says that. nor does he know how i tune.
your car is running less than 20 degrees of timing at 12 psi.
unless you've moved your dizzy.
you dont need 'a lot' of timing to make big power.
and yes, you need to get the car retuned.

after spending a few hours reading up on crome, i'm starting to like it. Seems to have very similar features as hondata, but alot more than the s200. I still have a few pet pevs with the s300's fuel multiplier setup, sure its a nice program, but then again its 550 bucks, where crome has an RTP as well. Just like how some people love neptune and some done.
I'm still awaiting the new Neptune RTP just to see how it does. I still have my s200 in my car, but if that ******* cable pulls out of the pins one more damn time, i'm going to burn it and throw in my crome tuned chip.
