Default Homemade adjustable wastegate?

Would this work? A friend of mine with a GM said I could do this for a internally wastegated turbo.

You must be a genius...

Thats what I call home made....I cant tell you if it will work..Doesnt even look like it will...
Anyway, yeah it will work but you can make a boost controller easier than you can do this.

should work fine,i actaully had to do something similar to mine,im using a actuator from a talon,10 psi and was not adjustable, plus it didnt meet up with my t3 housing for mounting.i used the adjustable side of a volvo actuator, then cut off part of the talon one, threaded part of it and screwed on the volvo end, works like a champ.

You can't lower boost past the wastegates spring, with a booost controller...

That is why some people would be interested in this.

I did that on my old t25 to lower it to 5psi...it worked..but the lag SUCKED. I didn't build boost till about 4 or 5k.

Here's a pic of how I did it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can lower it with an internal wastegate ... just like the Matrix "there is no spoon" but in this case, there is no spring

Unless I'm wrong, which is possible, my standard disclaimer.

>>Yeah I'm pretty sure you can lower it with an internal wastegate...<<

The only ways I know of to lower boost below a certain point on internal waste gates is to lengthen the actuator arm (like the example in this thread), or do it "ghetto style" and steal the spring off grammas screen door, hook one end to the fan shroud and the other to your waste gate. Then you've got a nice "helper srping" setup.

Another option that works particularly well with large and/or restrictive intercoolers is to route the actuator vacuum hose as close as possible to the compressor (pre-intercooler). Then as RPM's increase (and air flow) you'll get this nice steady drop in boost pressure at the manifold. "chuckle"
