high 12sec B16T
my friend has a B16A G2 w/ CTR cams in his eg, and we want to turbo it....this will be our first turbo b series, and while he kind of knows what he is doing; and i have a GTI 1.8T w/ lots of goodies and quite the extensive knowledge on how most cars work(and how to work on them)...we would still like a some input on what to look for...
he wants low 13sec, high 12sec power(if thats reasonable) on slicks, but he doesn’t want to have to tear into the motor...we have a $2500 budget....i was thinking a t series turbo for him like a T3s60 or a t3/t4 .50...he will be running a FMIC... and if it is in the budget maybe some W/M...
he wants it to be fairly reliable as it will be is DD...and replacing the block will be reasonable within 2 years...it will see a little track time on occasion...
what setups are you guys running(be specific)...what do you think he should run?
thanks for your input...
And dont handle me w/ kiddie gloves...give me all the nitty grity...
Sorry hopefully I'll get away w/ this last cross-post, due to my noob status

Re: high 12sec B16T (WAR_GTI)
ive gone 12.56 w/ 1.8 60fts on 22" slicks with my 93 civic cx, bone stock 100k+ b16a, ramhorm manifold, precision sc32 turbo, dsm 450cc injectors, 238whp at about 7 psi tuned with chrome pro, gutted interior. Very simple and cheap setup, charge pipes and 3" downpipe were fabbed myself . This was my old setup to give you an idea of whats possible. Keep in mind this was my setup when i was 18. haha
For your setup, just keep it simple, for 12's in a light honda, you don't need much power. example: log manifold, small t3/t4, healthy b16 motor, 2.5 dp , invest the money into a good tuner
