HELP!!! white smoke out of engine bay
i just had turbo for like 2 weeks more or less. turbo is already broken in about 1000 miles and clutch is broken in 500 miles.
i was driving it hard. in 3rd gear around 5k (its a t3/t4 on a d16y8) and out of no where white smoke!!! temp. was ok level. checked coolant, ok...when people say milky, what do they mean by that? like green, but really kind of opque color? mines is green, but no so milky. it doesnt look like oil mixed with it at all. i drove it home w/o any problems at all. its been like 4 days since it happen. so should i be worried??
it has only smoked up that 1 time, but i want to make sure b4 i go tuning. oh yeah, i turned the boost down to like 2lbs now, im scurd shitless. i didnt do a compression test yet.
problems with car:
missing link is fwaked (get check light when it senses boost)

Re: HELP!!! white smoke out of engine bay (ek9vboi)
Usually white smoke is a blown head gasket. Definatly do a compression test and leak down if you can and they will tell ya whats up

check not just the collant but chack the oil and see if there is water in there
when they say milky that is what i am trying to get too
it wont really look like oil that at all
but do a comp test and a leak down like said above
and you said also that the white smoke was in the engine bay any sigh or where it would of came from?
and just wondering how did you get the boost down to 2 psi?

ok, i dont think its a head gasket. i think it was really nothing.
no smoke from exhaust. it was under the hood. when i opened the hood, i didnt see wheree it came from b/c by the time i pulled over, it was all gone.
i checked the oil and it doesn't look like there is any water in it.
i am not running an open exhaust, nor are there an leaky exhaust spots.
finally, i got it down by setting the wg spring down to that much. sounds right...right?
