Default HELP! turbo and a/c

i want some replies from you guys who have turbos and still manage to keep your A/c. i bought a supposedly A/C compatible manifold/downpipe from JG-fab, and the way he sent it to me the downpipe didnt actually fit, it would have been about half an inch into the compressor. i've moved the downpipe about an inch and a half in, but his manifold has my turbo moved way to far off the block and too close to the condenser to work anyways, the turbo is practically against the a/c lines.

what mainfolds are you guys using?

this is for a b18c Del Sol, with a gt28R

i did some searching on this as well because i need my A/C and found that a lot of the "log" style manifolds give the lines a lot of room but you would have to use a slim fan. And Full-Race also have the ramhorn style manifold that you could use with A/C but its like $1100.

I have a full Spoolin Performance setup with T3/T4 turbo, full size OEM radiator, and dual 10" fans and it all fits no problem. I just wrapped all the AC lines in protective wrap. Here is the best pic I have:

i think having that open wastegate will kill your performance if the exhaust gases gets into the turbo.

it will. Someone posted a dyno that gained 70hp from adding a dumptube

I got my manifold from BMCrace(same people as JG-Fab) and it too fits like ****. As soon as I get some more money I will be buying a Spoolin manifold.

I have a dumptube, but it hits in a few spots. Phil offered to pay to have it redone, but I haven't gotten around to it. I think you guys are all getting a little open wastegate happy. My wastegate doesn't dump anywhere near my filter and I assure you there are no power problems with my setup.

And I can assure you if you put a dumptube on a get it retuned you will see very obvious gains in power. The wastegate does dump very close to the filter. Maybe around a foot away. Take into consideration under a closed hood that turbo is sucking air from wherever it can get it and its going to be from the wastegate pouring out exhaust. If you dont believe me look up how a car runs sucking in hot exhaust thats already been through the combustion chamber.
