HELP, running lean.
My AF gauge started reading much lower than normal Friday night. It used to read to the first few green lights in the rich but now it only reads 1/2 way in the stoich range and sometimes dips within a few lights from lean. I can hear the fuel pump working, there are no leaks anywhere. I did a compression test and all came out 195 psi. My plugs had a little carbon from running rich but no signs of detonation. Is there a way to check if the fmu is working right? What do you guys think? This is freaking me out and I won't take it into boost until figure outs what's wrong.

I'm assuming your useing the crap *** autometer like I am? Well its tempremental to say the least I wish I bought a Greddy A/F gauge instead... so much more accurate.

Re: HELP, running lean. (DeeJay)
Hey DeeJay...long time no hear!....are you running the MF2? If so, You either need to get it professionally tune or go stand alone...I was having all kinds of issues with mine, so I tossed it...just was not made to run on my car...either too lean or too rich...never just right....those pots aren't very intuitive with the car at all....I'd go stand alone. Stateside peeps should go Hondata,...I would have but there is no support in Japan.....tons of support for power FC tho...so I bought of these instead...difference between **** (MF2) and chocolate (power FC)

Yes i'm using the autometer gauge but it's been very consistent until friday. as i drive the gauge falls leaner and leaner until it freaks me out and i pull over and let it idle for a bit.

a/f gauges are whack. the apexi auto-timer has a digital readout of the a/f ratio. i dont know how accurate it is but the fact that it spits out numbers instead of colored dots probably says something. $90... probably cheaper then the greddy a/f gauge? doubles as a turbo timer too!

I'm going to get 2b when i get the $, after i buy rc 550's and a p72 ecu I'll need, and after i buy driveshaft shop stage 2 axles to replace the broken one's on my car, and after I pay someone to put my clutch in cause I think I'll **** it up, and after i get the AC hose my wastegate burned up.

Re: HELP, running lean. (MiraiZ)
hey miraiz, I'm using a bosch inline pump and a 12:1 fmu for my fuel for now. I thought the mf2 and extra injectors idea was lame. I'm going to go hondata when I get the $ whenever that'll be, I need a sponsor.

The apexi numbers are all over the place too.
Its the nature of the o2 sensor not the readouts.
All the nice wide band air/fuel monitors (motec, etc) use different sensors all together.

dont trust the a/f gauges , they are inaccurate, well my autometer one is . mine said i was rich all the time, then i found out on the dyno i was leaner than a futhermucker and almost blew my motor.
