Default Help please! pics

I have used red and blue lock tight. Lock washers and have redone this about 5 times. The four screws that bolt the turbo to the downpipe keep rattling out. Any suggestions on some sort of screws, I thought bout just tap welding it.

I had the same problem, switched from split style washers to external tooth washers and the problem was gone.

They look like this:

Safety wire all of the bolts together like they do in aircraft and racecars

Really?

Damn I saw a setup a couple days ago where A guy nord-locked and safety wired his DP bolts.

If you nord-lock, safety wire and loc-tite the bolts and they still come out there is another issue, such as excessive engine vibration. In that circumstance you may want to inspect your motor mounts and torque mounts. Avid makes some nice billet torque mounts.

Yup, it was the turbo to manifold flange where the bolt backed off on me. I was running into the same issue's with bolts backing off. Then I tried Nord-Lock and they have been good to me except for that one bolt.

How exactly do you wire the bolts together? And I have one stiff driver side motor mount, would that cause it vibrate to much?

I'm not familiar with welding, but I was going to tap weld the bolt to the downpipe.

do you have a flex tube or something to help with vibrations in the exhaust? if not those bolts will keep backing off or you will eventually crack your manifold

get studs in the places you can, it looks like you can run at least 2 and use copper locking nuts, but yeah v-band is gonna be the ultimate solution for future reference...

First you have to drill holes through the heads of the bolts like this

Then you wire it with one of these to twist the wire

And you wire all of them together in such a fashion that they hold each other tight like this

Give the nordlocks a try first if you haven't. I used to have the same problem all the time until I went to nordlocks. Never had an issue after that.

At my work we use Nord locs all day long... We use them on high speed printing presses for everything... I would highly recommend them... If you want I will be happy to send you a hand full... What size bolt are you useing... M6 or M8
