I need help!
I am assembling my motor as of now, and am at a dilema, should I get LS rods and machine them for my motor or leave the stock ones in?
I will be boosting with a drag gen 1 turbo kit around 8 psi daily and 10-12 at most.
Is it worth the extra 300 for eagle rods or will the stock ones be fine.

Tuning will be with the FMU 12:1 for 6 psi until i get either Uberdata or the V-AFC hack for 10 psi.

This is my daily and I already have arp head and rod bolts along with a Cometic head gasket.

I feel that at my boost levels and I will never drag race this car at the track, it is just for street fun, that stock rods will be fine.

If yo have the money I would go with eagle, but you can also boost stock engine and later get pistons rods and what ever you need for a full build up!!!

If you have it apart, get some pistons and rods. DO NOT put it back together stock (if its already apart). The motor can only take like 250 hp, and who knows how reliably it can do it... As soon as mine blows, it's getting built...!

well I am out of money at the moment. I spent it on the turbo

I hear lots of people boosting to 10-12 on a stock block, I am just making it stronger with the rods and bolts

Pistons are wayy to much money and rods I would consider if not for the fact its a daily driver not a drag car.

No matter how temping this seems I dont want a 12 sec hatch, mid to high 13's is all I expect and I wont ever run it except for country roads

If your going to take it apart to put new rods in it, don't put the stock pistons back in. Either leave it stock or do pistons and rods.

The turbopanda setup (forget pistons mounted on b16 rods) might be a good choice for a budget setup that can still handle gobs of boost (he used them up to 1.6 bar reliably, I beleive).
