how much boost for stock rods on s/c??
i'lll be using low compression pistons and stock rods on a gsr bottom with itr head. i have a vortech kit. whats the maximum psi can i push out of it safely so rods dont break??

if you are ripping apart the motor to do forged pistons you may as well do the rods, they are the second weekest thing aside from the ringlands. You can get eagle rods for under $300, and i think "Tuner toys" makes them for like a little over $200. then the only thing you are going to worry about is the stock sleeves, or you Vortec running out of breath and you being pisssed that you dont have a turbo. Just do yourself a favor and do the rods along with the pistons, if yo are trying to save money by not getting rods, then you think you can push the motor cuz you have forged pistons, you are going to blow lots of money when the rods blow out. JMO, spend more now, or have a peice of scrap later. sorry for the rant
