ok, so today is the first day i took my newly turboed integra gs out. it ran like a champ for awhile...but, then i noticed an oil leak. on the front of the moroso oil pan, the gasket slid out, and was drippng. i figured, ok, no prob, i'll get home and get that fixed. well, i didn't make it home. the car kept dying, and my oil psi gauge said there was no oil pressure at all. now, there is a knocking noise in the bottom end. i assum that could be rod bearings. why would my car not build oil pressure ? is it a bad oil pump ? or could my moroso oil pickup unit be bad ? need help fast!!

 

anyone ? i'm getting ready to take the oil pan off....maybe i can see something down there today......

 

if too much oil leaked out, you could have spun a bearing

My friends car did this and it won't start up for days. After taking apart the block they realized the head ceized up and the timing belt jumped a few teeth. It sounds like the same EXACt thing happen to you. He said it was knocking and won't start, , oil presure was at Zero, etc... PM him if you like "Integranator" he might be able to tell you the specifics.

 

well, i just fixed everything. for now anyways. I dropped the oil pan, and. HOLY BISJG()# there was metal everyhwere!! it destroyed the number 4 rod bearing!! oddly enough, there was no damage to the crank. i don't know how that happened. so, i replaced the rod bearings, changed the oil and filter, all new gaskets, and it's running ok now. it builds oil pressure finally. i am going to take it easy on it for awhile so everything seats in properly. definately not a fun thing to do!!

well, yes and no. Just determined today that the oil pump is poop. Took off the oil feed line to the turbo, started it up, and like 2ounces came out. that was it.

 

Did you break the engine in properly or do ya think it was just the oil pump?
