HELP ID my T3 Please!
I have a small T3 turbo I purchased off a guy locally for peanuts, but it has no markings anywhere on it to really ID it (i.e. no A/R or any sizing listed). So I'm hoping someone out there recognizes it. Guy called it a "G28" from a Skyline, so maybe some GT28 variant?
The only markings on it are "V03 Nissan Motors" on the turbine front, "AirResearch Pat No 3058787" on turbine rear, and "43R" on the compressor.

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
From what I've read the Super 60 is only made by Turbonetics, they never came on any factory car (although I'm no expert on turbos).
I'm wondering if maybe the "43R" on the back of the compressor maybe means .43 A/R? Or is it just an unrelated manufacturer's code?

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
I'm looking to use this turbo on a stock internals D16Y8 to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 220 WHP, would this turbo be big enough for that goal? I want something that spools relatively quickly, I'm just hoping it's big enough to do the job.

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
Ah. I knew I had this turbo somewhere:
Car of Origin: Nissan Gloria, 300ZX
Engine: VG30DET
Flange: Four-bolt T3 style
Max. Power Rating: 190kW (254hp crank)
Max. Boost: 1.2bar (17.4psi)
Here's a bit about it.
These are slightly larger in exhaust housing size than the RB25DET units, but have a fractionally smaller and different trim compressor. Information on these is sketchy, but due to their almost unknown application they are easier to find than the RB25DET unit. This turbo is better use in pairs than single, but it is smaller than the T3 super 60.

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
OK, I'm feeling a bit better about this being a Super 60 T3 from a 300ZX, as I've found another source that says all T3's have an exducer measurement 2.367", and the Super 60 has inducer of 1.90" (which this has by my measurements). But I'm still a little stumped on the outlet flange, as only two of the five bolts match up perfectly with a T3 flange.

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
Nissan have a funky 7 bolt flange pattern if you take the internal swing valve out. I say ditch the internal waste gate and go external. But the turbo should get you 220 whp no problem.

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
Is it not these five bolts that I would take off to remove the stock WG housing and then bolt my exhaust flange up to?

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
So then my next question is why don't those five bolts line up correctly with a standard T3 outlet flange like shown here? When I get home later I'll do measurements of those bolts and make my own version of this diagram for comparison, but I can tell you only two of those five line up perfectly, although two others look as though I can 'sandwich' the flange with a bolt and washers.
Is the flange on my turbo something oddball or is it some standard flange I'm not aware of?

Re: HELP ID my T3 Please!
Its a nissan flange. it is not standard by any means. what you're showing is a Ford style 5 bolt flange used on the mustang SVOs, not a nissan. Nissan doesn't sell flanges to the public like that. most people will make a flange (if they MUST have that turbo that badly). There is the mercedes 5 bolt flange, and the ford 5 bolt flange. You have the later.. it will never fit.
